In an attempt to capture my day to day life in my home I have gathered some memories here on "Life in the Craig house" Some of it is me praising God, some of it is me venting, some of it is boring ordinary stuff that seemed important at the time, most of it is funny, and all of it is from the heart. Thanks for checking in and seeing how I am doing on my journey of stay at home mom.

Free to be ME!!
Mamaw and Papaw took Victoria to Vincenes for the night last night and I got to share the house with the little ones. I enjoyed it. Mom offered to watch the babies for me tonight and I called James folks to see if I could interest them into watching Victoria for the night again so that I could hang out with Leslie by myself. They agreed and I sat in the car on the way home from Mom's house in complete shock! I don't think that I have had a night out with a friend alone since I have had the babies that I can remember. I drove home as fast as I could safely drive and called Leslie with the good news.
I didn't know what I wanted to do with my time so I left it up to Leslie. I have NO CLUE what cool people without children do anymore. I showered and enjoyed actually putting product in my hair along with ...........oooooooooooh..................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah..........MAKEUP!!! It took me a minute to figure out how that mascara wand worked again. It has been a while. I met up with her at Simplicity to see what they have done with the new salon. We drove downtown to 4th street and ate at The Pub. I cracked up at the men wearing kilts serving us. We enjoyed an appetizer of fried pickles and split an order of fish and chips.
After dinner she lead me to 21C. This hotel/art museum in downtown Louisville. It was the coolest thing that I have been in. They had all kinds of video art exhibits and I actually freaked out when I accidentally stepped on a couple sleeping on the floor. They had a place on the floor painted white and had a video projected down on the floor of a couple sleeping. They would shift and fluff their pillow and just lay there sleeping it was so cool! Another exhibit was a waterfall of letters on the wall leading to the elevator from another projector. They just showered down until you walked in the path of the video. When your shadow hit the wall the letters would bounce off of your shadow as if you were blocking the path. I have no clue how they achieved this but I stood there amazed for quite a bit. I even held up my hand and caught a letter T and held it with my shadow.
The exhibits were really neat and off the wall subject matters but the best part was the bathroom. In the hallway leading up the bathroom were different mirrors, I noticed but didn't think anything about it. When we walked into the bathroom I realized that the mirrors were 2-way mirrors. In the men's bathroom apparently the urinal is up against the wall directly under the 2-way mirror. So when the guys are doing their "business" they are watching everyone look at the art exhibits, or people checking themselves out and fixing their makeup in the mirror. It cracked me up! In the ladies room they had about 15 randomly placed LCD TV screens about 3 inches wide playing videos of eyeballs looking around as if they are just checking out the bathroom behind you.
The mascot of 21C is this red plastic penguin. It is about 2 1/2 foot tall and they are everywhere. We had it explained to us by a friend of mine that worked the front desk that they are encouraged to move them as they pass by one. My friend Jason took one and placed in the doorway of one of the rooms with it's beak touching the door so that when the occupants wake in the morning they will open their door to find a penguin just hanging out right outside their door waiting to greet them. He said that he has even placed them in unoccupied rooms in the shower and placed a shower cap on them. It was so cute. I am going to have to go back because they change the art work every 6 months. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
We topped off the night with Krispy Kremes (as you can tell I wasn't worried about that number on the scale sitting in the drive thru) I haven't had that much fun in a long long time. It was great to just let down my hair, without worrying about someone pulling on it with tiny little fingers, and just being Kelly. It was a much needed break! I <3 Mondays!!

Time for a "Face" lift
This past week after filling out my paperwork and gathering information on scholarship information. My buddy Leslie called to inform me that the money has been taken care of and that her sister Jodi Harris is lovingly watching Victoria till James gets home the weekend of the retreat. Apparently there has been a secret "Let's get Kelly to Faces of Christ retreat fund" that has been going on behind my back. I am so humbled by this gesture. Apparently this is the time that God has appointed me to go to the retreat. I can't wait!
Leslie you are one of the best friends that I have ever had. I had no clue when you moved to the hair station next to me at Macy's how much of an impact you would have on my life. I don't know where I would be without you. You are an amazing soul. I can't wait for the retreat!

Souls and Smores
We watched Dane Cooks new DVD and Anchorman and laughed till our sides hurt. When the night came to a close we sat on the swing outside and got into a deep conversation about the study that Southeast is doing called Heaven. She was sharing with me the things that she had learned so far about how personal and amazing that Heaven is going to be. I think I am going to join her tomorrow and continue on with the rest of the study.
She is going to the faces of Christ retreat in July. I have been praying about it and praying for the ability to go. I have had many friends that have been and talked about what a life changing experience it is. I feel like I am starting to come to terms with where I am in life. I am becoming more content with not working outside of the home and this beautiful weather that we have been having is helping us get out of the house more and not feel so trapped in a tomb. I feel like I am embracing my role as a mother more and appreciating all that comes with it. I feel a healing take place and a lengthening of my fuse. :) I feel really ready to get even closer to God and find even more peace. I feel like God is leading me to do this. I am just needing everything to fall into place with the kids not having mommy to watch them along with financially responsibilities. I hope that things work out... fingers crossed.

Hooray shots!!!!!
Once she got into the room she was given a hospital robe with fish on it. She immediately went into "HERE FISHY FISHY FISHY" from Sesame Street. They pricked her finger and took a urine sample. She like the finger prick because she sees Papaw do that all of the time to check his sugar. She got a band-aid and all, which is such a huge thing for a 4 year old.
When they were done with the exam Dr. Wilbur asked if I wanted to do the immunization that she needed for school today or wait for another year when she would be enrolling. I gave Victoria the option and without hesitation she opted to take the shots today. I am floored! So was the doc. She was excited and singing "Hooray Shots!" The doctor and I just looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders. She ran out to get the nurse before she changed her mind.
The nurse came in and turned Victoria around and leaned her back on the table to hang her legs off of the edge of the bed. Victoria started to get a little nervous but handled it like a champ. I was so proud of her.
We left there and went to Target (no bread in the parking lot) and got her a prize for her bravery. She picked out a Hannah Montana dry erase marker board and we ate a hot dog and nachos at the cafe. (A Target date) We had a great time and of course she showed everyone that she passed that she got shots at the "babies doctor"

Monday mystery
We headed to Georgetown and got a good spot because there was about 12 cars there on a Monday evening. I set up the back of the car with blankets and snacks for Victoria and the babies and had our front row seats set up for Leslie and I. I tried to watch the movie in between the bathroom breaks for Victoria and I, Addison teething and Anthony trying to watch the movie and sleep and watch Kung Fu Panda on the front screen. He was very torn. I laughed when they played the 7 dwarfs Hi Ho song and Anthony started doing the head bob that him and daddy did the night earlier. Leslie enjoyed the surprise and apparently is planning a surprise Monday for us this coming week. She is already sending me messages saying..."It is Tuesday afternoon do you know what you are doing on Monday?"

Happy Father's Day
James had rough week this week. His father's day weekend started with a seat belt violation and a long long week working. Our oldest decided the her social life was more important than family on this father's day weekend and threw a pool party for her friends. Needless to say it put a damper on the "family time". We headed to the drive in around 7:00 when we normally get there on the weekends. Well the gate was closed and locked and no sign of anyone in the ticket booth. I walked past the gate and up the concession stand to find one of the workers. She told me that they probably wouldn't open the gate until 8:30. We all kinda stared at each other and wondered what to do with the extra hour and a half that we found ourselves with. We were quickly provided with something to do, FIX MOM'S FLAT TIRE! Apparently mom's valve stem had dry rotted and her tire wasn't holding air at all. So my loving husband got to change a tire on Father's day. Hooray for him! He was wonderful and had it fixed in about 5 minutes.
We made our way back to the drive in and enjoyed a very funny movie. It is going to be one to buy when it comes out. Anthony started to show us his dance moves. He has become a head banger. Him and daddy danced to the music while we waited for the show to start. I am goin to have to get some video of it. Our little "Boogie Bear" is turning into a boogie man.

One person's trash is another's treasure and one persons obstacle course is anothers purchases.
Today after bible study I headed over to Mamaw and Papaw's house to drop off Victoria so that Grandma Harb and I could concentrate on the babies at their 9 month check up....that is soooo hard to believe. Where did the time go? While heading off to the doctor I caught a glimpse of something that I knew would make Victoria smile. Someone had set a easel out for the trash to pick up. I hit those brakes and within 30 seconds it was mine, well.. Victoria's. She of course loved it.
The babies are growing like weeds. Anthony is now 16 lbs. and Addison is 17 lbs. 4oz. They are both looking great and only had one shot today. They did amazing they didn't even flinch.
After the visit mom and I headed off to Target to get some diapers. Mamaw dropped off Victoria at Target for us and we loaded up and mom placed her last bag in the back of the car and we headed out onto State Street. When the light turned green we took off and heard a strange sound. I glanced in the rear view mirror and saw that my hatch had come open. We had dumped our two cases of cokes in the middle of State Street right at the busiest intersection in New Albany. I pulled over in the next driveway and made my way back to the intersection to grab our Coke zeros. Mom pulled the car around and I started chucking Cokes into the grass because the light changed and people were wanting to get through. I must have been a sight because the first Coke that I threw busted and now there is a Coke sprinkler going off in the grass heading my direction. I got all of the Cokes into the car and mom turned to me and said "MY BREAD!" Seems we were missing more than we thought so back to the Target parking lot we head to see one lone bag in the roadway into the parking lot. A car was heading toward it as we gasped just in time to see him straddle it with his tires and the bread was unharmed. SHEW! This kind of stuff only happens to mom and I.

Walking for Papaw
We had a really good time! There were so many people there and so much going on. They had inflatables for the kids to jump in, ice cream, people there doing haircuts and massages for donations and a live band with a DJ. The babies loved watching all of the happenings and of course were adorable in their T-shirts that Mamaw made for them with the colon cancer ribbon on the front and "I am walking for Papaw" on the back. This was the first time that I have participated in the walk. They had the track lined with luminary bags for all of the survivors and loved ones that have lost the battle to cancer. It was very touching to see all of the survivors take the first lap with such pride and accomplishment in their faces. We cheered Papaw on as he made his quarter of a lap before he headed to the tent for some shade. I don't blame him. We took laps for Papaw, Grandma Ragle (we lost her almost 2 years ago, she was Vicki's mom), my Grandpa Jack (lost him several years ago too he was my mom's dad) and a lap for friends of loved ones that are fighting this horrible sickness. It was such a beautiful and sad thing to participate in. I am very glad that I went.
After a few laps I took Victoria down to a fence that was covered in honeysuckle. I have been telling her about growing up and walking down country road eating the honey out of the blooms. I could see Victoria's mind working as I told her this story as she gazed down the hill looking at the flowers. She stopped in her tracks and looked me straight in the eye and said "This is where the bees puke?" I guess I should of held off on the details on where honey comes from a few weeks ago when she asked. She did get a kick out of sucking the honey out of the blooms with mommy though.

Date with Victoria
We started off the day with a trip to Kohl's to get the babies some new pj's. They are outgrowing them so fast. Addison is wearing her 12 month ones right now. Little chunk! We left Kohl's to head for some lunch. I drove into McDonald's parking lot and Victoria was stunned because we were parking and not going through the drive through (something we always do when the babies are with us). She looked at me and said "Are we.....going in?" She and I skipped into McDonald's and BOTH ordered a Chicken nugget happy meal. We say and giggled and talked the whole time.
After lunch we went to Dollar tree so that she could spend some of her allowance. She bought Grandma Harb a Happy Birthday balloon (her birthday is in Nov) and some toys for herself. Once we were done with groceries we headed home so that I could do some hair.
It isn't everyday that your hairdresser has to get the dishes done in "shampoo bowl" Felicia cracked up as I am flying through dishes so that she could wash her hair for her haircut. Miss Addison again spit up on her mom and we have concluded that she is just going to have to bring a spare change of clothes or we are going to have to provide a poncho for her visits.
I have had a great day today and I wish more days went like this. Thank you Grandma Harb for my date with my daughter.
BTW.. New Victoria word
Apple Garden- She saw Olive Garden advertised tonight as we were eating our PB&J (I know McDonald's and PB&J not the best healthy choices) she told me "That looks good we should go to that Apple Garden place"
