What a week!

Wow for a family that stayed home for Spring Break we really packed it up with stuff to do.  Court date, zoo trip, trip up to the country to see my Grandparent's old home, Truck show, birthday party, egg hunt, Church, Victoria's first supervised visitation, and two nights Victoria spent with Mamaw and Papaw including a trip up to Brownstown to see family and visit a farm.  I would say that Victoria and myself included took full advantage of not having to get up early, and enjoyed our break from our schedule.  Here we are Monday morning and I have to say I am anxiously awaiting Summer Break.  I forgot how early 7am is, where's my coffee?

Wanna feel like a super model....

then go to the Mid America Truck show!  Put on a little mascara and your are treated like royalty.  Have a couple of kids with ya?  That is even better as you get more freebies such as pens that you don't need, a Frisbee for your 6 feet of a yard, yo-yos, and enough bouncy balls to last you a year!  What a blast we had!
Check out Anthony's expression and the title of the book "and women of trucking"  :)

We of course started off at Horseshoe for breakfast for my favorite omelet.  A&A chowed down on Pancakes with big sissy and had their fill of fresh fruit.  I couldn't fill those kids up with fruit if I tried.  They never stop!

-Eating our sack lunch-

We had to of walked 10 miles today at the show and had a nice little rest in a hallway to eat our sack lunch of PB&J.  Anthony was saying "Daddy Cruck" all day long and Addison is fascinated by chrome (Daddy was SO proud!).  She caught her reflection in a bumper and talked and growled at herself every chance she could in the chrome booths.  What a riot!  She also looked up at the truck up on the hydraulic lifts and said "That car flies!".  We had a ball!  We sat and watched a talk about Ford and what they had on the market as far as trucks just so we could see if we won a T-shirt with the ticket they handed us to keep us around.  No such luck but mom and I did get a kick out of them asking whoever had the ticket number that they called to yell out something about Ford.  I thought for a moment about how many loads James has had cancel the past few months and how long it had been since we have had a full check.  I decided that if I won that I would jump up and say "Ford freight sucks!!"  I probably wouldn't get a T-shirt would I?  Don't worry I didn't get a chance to say anything because they didn't call our name.

Mac trucks had a nice little "woodsy" booth that had stuffed animals.  Anthony was casually snacking on pretzel sticks when he raised up out of the stroller to find that he wasn't alone. He covered his eyes that whole time we were around this stuffed raccoon.

Great day to relax and enjoy life.  Kids were wonderful, and so was the entertainment at the show.  Going to a truck show in Kentucky is like them picking out the BEST "people watching" material and putting them all in one place and they provide popcorn!  You just can't lose!

A new way to dine

I am very excited to say that Mamaw's table is cleaned up and in my home.  It looks great and I couldn't be prouder!  Homemade chicken salad and crackers for Victoria, Gramma Harb and I, and PB&J for A&A.  (hey that rhymes)  Addison made a comment about my Cherry plates on the wall that I took from the back porch of Mamaw's.  "I wike u pates Mommy!".  Nice little touches to the home that bring a bunch of warm memories to mind.

Mamaw Memories

Today was a fun yet hard day.  My Papaw sold his farm and the house needed to be cleaned out.  All of my crew packed up in the car to go through some old memories of our childhood.  Most of my cousin's were out there and it was great to hang out with them a bit and reminisce. I was so delighted to find a snapshot of me and my cousins Tiff and Nik sleeping on the living room floor with our mattresses that we would drag down those stairs that seemed so much taller in my youth.  I remember how my Papaw would put $5 under our pillow but would always give me and Tiff (the oldest of the 3) a $5 bill but would give Nikki five $1 bills and she would spend the rest of the day bragging that Papaw gave her more money than us.  :)  I was able to retrieve a drop leaf table that always held the desserts at our family dinners at Mamaw's and the same table that I would eat my homemade doughnuts on. You can find a post about her doughnuts here.  Many beautiful bottles that I cleaned up and are now displayed on my shelf in the living room. I found a wooden bowl that I instantly fell in love with.  It was the first thing that I grabbed out of the house and as I carried it out of the front door Dad told me that he made it in his Freshman year of High School.  So neat!  But I have to say that my most precious treasure is Mamaw's ceramic potato.  That thing has always cracked me up.  Mom said that she was with her when she found it at a Goodwill a long time ago.  Mom said Mamaw just scooped it up under her arm as soon as they walked in the door and Mamaw just fell in love with it.  I kept teasing my cousin's that one of us needed to take the potato home and it can't be left to go to the dump.  I snuck it into my cousin Chris' car and she caught me and somehow found a way to sneak it back into mine.  I decided to take it with me, it is just too silly to pass up on.  I just need to find someplace very special to put it.

"Addison-isms"

- "Una-mana-lime"  How every story starts with her (Once upon a time)

-After a 5 minute fit thrown as she was put into bed, I had Victoria check on her and see if she could get her calmed down.  Victoria seems to have a knack for that sometime in dealing with Addison.  Victoria came back in my bedroom cracking up.  "Do you know what she is saying?"  (I couldn't understand Addison's screams)  "She is saying 'I broked my pillow' and she has the pillow in one hand and the pillowcase in the other."  So a stripped pillow in our house is now a broken pillow.  LOL!

Sorry there may be many posts today..

A&A have been quite hilarious lately with Anthony telling everyone he is Thupermain and Addison telling everyone at lunch a few days ago "HEY GUYS WE'RE GOING BYE BYE!"  The laughs have been plentiful!

Thupermain and Cake Cake were having lunch at their table in the living room.  I told the kids after about 10 minutes of them playing with their food that they needed to hurry up and eat so that we can take a nap, "Mommy's pooped!".  Addison jumped up said "Mommy's Poop?"  she flew down the hall and threw her hip out and gave a Vannah White pose to the door and said "Herrrre's you bathroom!".

Nobody likes a Tattle Tail

After having a wonderful breakfast with Anthony, Addison and Victoria her school for "Muffins with Mom" I came home to change clothes and do a little cleaning.  I grabbed my favorite comfy sweats and one of James' shirts.  Anthony flipped out!  He was floored that I had the audacity to wear one of his Daddy's shirts!  He grabbed it (while it was on me) drug me around the house saying "No No Daddy SHIRT!"  I looked down an him while pulling my shirt, well "Daddy's shirt" back over my shoulder and said "You want to call Daddy and see if it is OK for Mommy to wear this shirt"  I got a low eyebrowed "UH-HUH!"  We called Daddy put him on speakerphone and Anthony took over the conversation, smacking my chest grabbing my shirt and telling daddy to "LOOK!" (mind you daddy is on the phone).  James got quite a kick out of it and I did end up getting permission to wear his shirt.  I haven't heard a word from Anthony since about my outfit.  Little stinker.

The plan came through

Traffic court today.  I was a nervous wreck.  I may need a Xanax for our court date next Tuesday.  I was there on the correct day at the correct time, AND I got my "Diversion"! Today was a good day!

"BOW-jangles"

Well folks I have decided to take this bow making a bit more seriously and have placed them in a couple of salons and made $50 last week while sitting on my couch. My friend Melissa's client helped me come up with a name "BOW-jangles".  They thought it went well with my love for music so I decided to take a stab at it and came up with a logo.  I have even started making dog bows.  Still waiting on some pics of pups with them on.  Can't wait!
Now I am trying to figure out my computer program to print out labels for my merchandise.  I am having a ball and it is a great distraction from things along with a way to keep my hands busy at night.  61 days smoke-free!  This has helped at night when nobody is up to keep me accountable (i.e. Victoria).

Know anyone that needs a bow?  Know of someone that has a salon that could use a little extra retail?  Check me out on Facebook I just opened up a page with some pics of my work.

Introductions

I met James on Wednesday so that we can take his truck to Carmax and sell it.  Very excited to have that car payment!  That truck hasn't been my most favorite thing in our life since he purchased it.  We have wanted to sell it for a while but never had any offers.  Last weekend as James was cleaning out the back I found myself tearing up.  Lots of memories in that darn thing.  We left the church after our wedding in it.  Many trips to the drive-in.  Anthony had his first cotton candy in the back of it at the drive in.  And that truck was the start of "Daddy Cruck".  Anthony and Addison would cry when they heard the truck fire up when Daddy would leave for work.  So it was bitter sweet to sell it.  But mostly glad it is gone.

As we were standing at the counter at Carmax the sweet young girl was commenting on how cute A&A were.  She asked them their names and Anthony without skipping a beat jumped up landed firm on his feet, hands stationed on his hips said "I'M PIDAMAN!" He has finally opened up his mind to allowing other superheros into his heart.  Thanks goodness we have more options now.  But Superman will always have his heart.  :)

On a different note the case is going VERY well.  I am trying not to get too confident, but let's just say that things have swung in our favor, and are continuing to do so.  I will have "the clear" to speak more on it after the court date.  But let me just say that God is moving and making himself known.  Praise Him!!

Missing

I had to share getting Addison ready for bed tonight.  She sat on the changing table as I pulled her shirt over her head. Tonight's pj's had unusually long sleeves.  When she shoved her arms in them her hands didn't reach the end.  She looked at me with wide eyes and said "OH NO MY HANDS ARE LOST!"

Set into motion..

If you have known me for longer than 5 minutes you know I deal with many things through humor.  Today James and I selected our lawyer.  Caring and aggressive. In honor of the good news I would like to share a little song with ya......Let's get ready to rumble!!!!

I am not surprised...

After getting ready (having a good hair day) and going to pick up Victoria from the bus I reached into my purse to look once again at my speeding ticket to make sure that I had the right time for my court hearing today.  Yep, 4:00 is what I thought.  WAIT......4:00 MARCH 2, 2010?  "What day is today? Crap! Oh no your kidding me!  This can't be!  Yep, Kelly your court day was.....yesterday!"  Can you tell my head is a little out of sorts?!?  I called and reset the date for a couple of weeks from now.  I called my dad and told him what I did and he laughed and said with all of this court stuff going on in our house on a slow day in the court room the judge is just going to say...."What are the Craig's doing today?  Let's bring them in here."  LOL!  Laughing is better than crying.  :0)

Not the kind of "date" we need

I am not sure where to even begin.  Ironically my last post was about going to court.  This one will be too.  Saturday was a bad day.  We allowed Tina to see Victoria for a few hours.  We got in the car to pick Victoria up from her mother's new house. James informed me that he got the mail,  in it was a letter from our lawyer that handled our custody case.  He was informing us that Tina's lawyer contacted his office with a court date for our contempt of court hearing.  She had threatened us with this a while back but we hadn't heard any more word on it at all.  I had been told that she threatens this often and never follows through, not to worry and just go on with life.  Easier said than done.  We have a court date in about 3 weeks.  So my time will be busy with gathering paperwork and character letters to take with us.  I am not sure what I am doing, how this is going to work out, and what we are going to do in the meantime.  I am not going to lie this is scary.  I have confidence that God will be with us on this journey but we could sure use some extra prayers for guidance and protection for our family.
