1st Carriage Ride

We made another attempt to see the lights of Charlestown last night.  Boy are we glad we did.  The lights were working again from the recent wind storm and Santa was in his workshop.  We headed over to the park that was beautifully lit to take a horse drawn carriage ride.  Anthony was about to lose his mind waiting on the horsey to pic him up.  He kept running in place dancing while keeping an eye on the dressed up Rudolph and Frosty the snowman that was there shaking the kids hands.  Our carriage arrived. We were blessed to get to ride the Cinderella carriage that was a white dome covered in Christmas lights.  We all fit and had the carriage all to ourselves.  For $4 all 5 of us were able to take the 20 minute ride around the park and town square.  It was such an awesome experience to hear the horse shoes on the wooden floor of the covered bridge in the park.  It was covered on Christmas lights and poinsettias.  I was unaware but it was mom's first carriage ride too.  I wouldn't trade the memories of tonight for anything.  We could kick ourselves for not having a camera with us to capture the faces filled with the Christmas spirit.  After the ride we headed back up the hill to or car and was bombarded with people that poured out of an SUV with garbage bags.  They handed my kids wrapped Christmas presents.  They were from a local church.  The kids got buckled into the car and opened their Backyardigans stuffed animals.  We saw Santa in his workshop. Anthony sat on his lap for .2 seconds and then clung to me for dear life.  Victoria still states that she wanted some more school clothes for Christmas.  Santa looked an her a little funny and said that was the first request for school clothes that he has heard this Christmas.  I guess I should take advantage of it being something practical that she wants for Christmas instead of a bunch of toys that will lose their excitement 3 days later.  I still need to go shopping for Christmas.  Hopefully that will be able to happen sometime this week, not sure I want to fight the crowd this late in the game.

Oh, Kelly! I'm so glad you went again! We need to go looking at lights again. I'll try to find out about the house in C-town!
